Product Description
Choosing the Right Size of Bike Cover
Choosing the right size of bike cover is very important to ensure a great fit and you get the right size of bike cover for your needs. There are different variables to consider, whether that’s bike type and size, the number of bikes and how they’re going to be stored. Please see our below guide to choosing the right bike cover, the first time.
How to Measure To match the right size bike cover to your bike storage set up, please measure the width, length, and height of your ‘whole bike storage set-up’. If using a bike rack, please take into consideration that the bikes will potentially be positioned apart and sometimes in opposite directions (e.g. hitch mounted bike rack).
|
|
|
---|---|---|
Side by Side Storage (No Racks)This is the most common storage method whether storing your bikes inside or outside. Sizing is straightforward, however, please consider type and sizes of bikes. |
Floor Standing RackThere are different types of floor standing racks whether single ‘push-in’ or traditional floor parking bike rack. When storing two or more bikes in a bike rack they are generally positioned in the same direction and apart. We, therefore, recommend to potentially ‘size-up’. For example, if storing two medium or large bikes on a floor parking bike rack, we recommend our XXL size bike cover. |
Hitch Mounted Bike RackWhen using a hitch mounted bike rack on either the back of an RV, truck or car we recommend to ‘size-up’ as mounting bikes on a rack tend to be positioned apart and in opposite directions. For example, if storing 2 medium to large bikes, we recommend our XXL size bike cover. When ‘travelling’ we also strongly recommend strapping down the bike cover to reduce potential billowing and to ensure your setup is safe and secure when travelling. |

The "stationary" version in the XL size fits my electric bicycle perfectly! There's a little wiggle room to spare all around. I feel like it's the perfect fit.
I do you like the two red Loops at the front of the cover, which help get the cover up and over the handlebars.
With some minor adjustments, I'm sure I can get the front end of the cover to completely go underneath the front tire if I had to. But for now, this works. There was about two or three inches from the bottom of the tire to the bottom of the cover at the front that is exposed. Please see the photos I posted.
Let's talk about durability and quality. This is made out of a parachute like material, the kind that has those little mini squares in it, and then is coated on the outside with a waterproof type material. Feels like a sort of plastic polymer, or rubbery type substance. But I can tell it's definitely water resistant.
At either end, where the tires are, there is a cinch Buckle strap thing with cordage, where you can cinch up the front and rear to Snug the tires better.
It is not an elastic band of any sort. I actually prefer the cord system better, because you can adjust it as you need to. I found that with the elastic band types in the past, the elastic band tends to be way too tight, and it's a pain in the neck getting the whole cover up and over and around your bicycle.
Instead, the cord system with the Cinch buckle on the end, allows you to get the cover on and off easily.
In the center of the cover, just underneath about where your pedals would be, there is a nylon webbing and click in buckle system, to secure the center of the cover securely underneath your crank set, or in other words where your petals are. The Buckle itself feels like good, strong plastic, the kind of buckles you find on a military style backpack for instance. Built to last for sure!
Would I wrap up a bicycle in this cover, throw it on a rack, and throw it on the back of an RV or something? That's something you'll have to experiment with on your own. But as far as I can tell, this cover is definitely way better than anything else I've found on Amazon so far.
In other words, I really do think this cover is meant to be a cover for a bicycle that's going to be stationary... hence the "stationary" version. Like let's say you leave your bicycle in your garage, or want to put it out on your back patio or something. I think this cover is perfect for that.
Anytime you transport a bicycle, there is wind consider, and your cover is going to act like a huge sail on a sailboat catching all that wind. Drive 60mph on the highway, and 60 mph of wind is hitting and pressing on, and going all around the cover. So, do the math ???
In terms of the two big holes at the front of the cover, where you can send a cable through to lock up your bike to say a tree, or post or something, they are definitely large enough to fit your standard Kryptonite or typical cable through.
I do not believe these rings for a cable lock are stainless steel. Rather they seem like a steel that has been Chrome plated.
I had seen some other Amazon reviews where they were talking about these things rusting out, etc. I guess it depends where you live, how close to the ocean and saltwater you are, etc. I have no intention of leaving this cover out in the rain or anything. So I couldn't tell you honestly.
My primary purpose for buying this cover was to bring my bicycle camping, and to have the cover act as a moisture barrier between the morning dew, and the bicycle itself.
Long-term review coming within the next few months. Let's see how it holds up on a few camping trips, and I'll get back and repost and update.
But for now anyways, the quality is there, I feel like this thing is built to last, the stitching looks great, it does come with a carry bag for stowing away, and also I do like the heavy weight. I would say this thing weighs over a pound for sure, if not two or three pounds. I think that's because of the waterproofing, water resistant material, on the outside.
The short quick answer to all of the questions that I think you might be asking is, yes! I definitely would buy this cover again, and I do think that this particular cover is probably the best one I found so far.

Quality of fabric/cover, straps, are quite good. [I will update review if anything changes]. The design is well thought out [2 lower bike straps, 2 top straps, and 2 wheel fit toggle adjustments]
What size: With both ebikes ON the hitch, here are the dimensions: 6’ long, 42in. high, 34in. wide [i.e. at handlebars]
XL Size Cover was perfect. . [ps I think the XL has an incorrect width on Amazon. I believe it is 39].
Suggestion: If you your cover is ‘tight’ over something that could cause wear, I suggest using an old sock/towel to protect the cover. For example, before you put the cover on, I put a sock on the outer pedals, a protruding mirror, and a carry basket. See pictures.
If you need a cover, BUY THIS ONE!!!!!.
Additional information for those going on a trip.
+For tightening the cover, I highly recommend a Cakubor Cargo Net. Based on sizes above I suggest the 4’x6’ [15x10 stretched]. Comes with plastic hooks and carabiners.
When you tighten your net, try to get 2 or 3 strands [see pictures]
Finally, For safety reasons, since your rear lights AND plate will be covered, I suggest:
1) Magnetic trailer/hitch tail lights along with a quality wiring harness. I suggest going to ‘etrailer dot com’ for these] you might pay a little more, but you will get; quality products, awesome installation videos and, great customer support. [I used reusable zip ties to secure on my magnetic lights to my hitch]
2) Consider a Yakima plate to relocate you plate to a visible area. [I used reusable zip ties to secure the plage on my cargo net]
>We used this on a 700 mile trip to cover our e-bikes. in the end of our trip it looked good as new!
